Illustrative review based on public pages and Semrush data, 5 October 2026
58 OUT OF 100
Composite site and AI-search score

Eleven senior living communities, thirteen separate websites, and a parent domain that a child brand already outranks.

LSC publishes more verifiable proof than almost any organization we review. The 990s, the audits, the corporate compliance policy, the cultural competence plan and a named board of trustees are all one click from the footer. The senior services page carries every community, its phone number and its level of care in plain readable prose. That is a genuinely strong starting position.

The structural problem is dispersion. Each of the eleven senior living communities sits on its own domain, and trinityoaks.net draws an estimated 2,312 organic visits a month against 1,141 for lscarolinas.net. The parent brand that carries the mission, the audits and the regulatory record is the smaller search presence. Meanwhile Google serves an AI Overview on 266 of LSC's ranking keywords and a People Also Ask box on 666, and LSC wins zero featured snippets and carries no FAQPage or Organization structured data on any page we read.

The six subscores

Each subscore reflects pages we read on lscarolinas.net and trinityoaks.net on 5 October 2026, plus the Semrush United States database for the same date.

Design and mobile
12 / 20

The viewport tag is correct and pinch zoom is left on, which many senior living sites get wrong. Against that, the senior services page ships 114 image elements with 18 carrying an empty alt attribute, and the accessibility toolbar loads 44 national flag images before a visitor has asked for a translation.

Speed and tech health
8 / 15

WordPress with Slider Revolution 6.7.29. The senior services page returns 464 KB of HTML before a single image downloads, and of its 114 image elements only 2 carry a loading attribute, so 112 images are fetched eagerly on a page most visitors scroll halfway down.

Conversion path
11 / 20

A family researching care lands on the senior services page, picks a community, and leaves for a different domain. Eleven communities point at eleven outside sites. The parent offers one generic Contact Us form and a 1-800-HELPING hotline, with no tour request, no level-of-care triage and no shared inquiry capture.

SEO basics
13 / 20

758 ranking keywords and 361 keywords where Google shows a local pack, which is the right shape for an eleven-location footprint. The weakness is authority split across thirteen domains, no Organization or LocalBusiness schema anywhere, and the community locator published as a single PNG.

AEO
6 / 15

The largest gap and the cheapest to close. 266 AI Overview keywords and 666 People Also Ask keywords, against 0 featured snippets and 0 keywords carrying FAQ markup. The only structured data on the senior services page is WebPage, WebSite, SearchAction and a two-item BreadcrumbList.

Trust
8 / 10

Among the best we have scored. Published 990s, a community stewardship report, a corporate compliance policy, a cultural competence plan dated February 2026, a named board and leadership team, and the Candid transparency seal. The seals themselves are images with no text alternative, so a machine cannot read the proof.

Three findings, with the evidence

Each of these is checkable on your own site in under a minute.

Finding 1 · Authority split thirteen ways

A child brand outranks the parent, because the portfolio publishes on thirteen domains.

The senior services page lists eleven senior living communities and sends every one of them to an outside domain: trinityelms.net, trinitylanding.net, trinityoaks.net, trinityview.net, trinityglen.net, trinitygrove.net, trinityplacealbemarle.net, trinityridge.net, trinityvillage.net, astonparkhcc.org and glenflora.net. Adult day services point to trinitylivingcenter.net and home care to trinityathome.net. Thirteen domains, none of them linking authority back into the one that carries the mission and the audited financials. Semrush puts lscarolinas.net at 1,141 monthly organic visits and trinityoaks.net at 2,312. The brand doing the regulatory and financial work is the quieter one in search.

Evidence. Outbound community links read on lscarolinas.net/senior-services/, 5 October 2026. Semrush domain overview, United States database, same date: lscarolinas.net organic traffic 1,141, rank 1,038,152; trinityoaks.net organic traffic 2,312, rank 616,230.
Finding 2 · Answer engines cannot quote you

You answer the questions AI engines are asking. None of it is marked up.

Google serves a People Also Ask box on 666 of LSC's ranking keywords and an AI Overview on 266 of them. LSC wins the featured snippet on none, and no page we read carries FAQ markup. The senior services page explains New Pathways, Heartful Living, PACE eligibility for adults 55 and over, and the difference between adult day services and assisted living, all in clear prose that would answer those boxes directly. The only structured data on the page is a WebPage node, a WebSite node with a SearchAction, and a two-item BreadcrumbList. There is no Organization, no LocalBusiness and no FAQPage anywhere in it.

Evidence. Semrush SERP feature counts for lscarolinas.net, 5 October 2026: AI Overview 266, People Also Ask 666, local pack 361, featured snippet 0. Structured data on lscarolinas.net/senior-services/: one application/ld+json block containing WebPage, ReadAction, BreadcrumbList, two ListItem, WebSite, SearchAction, EntryPoint and PropertyValueSpecification. Occurrences of FAQPage: 0. Occurrences of Organization: 0.
Finding 3 · The locator is a picture, and one image has no image

Eleven community locations are published as a single PNG, and the service areas block ships an image tag pointed at the page itself.

The "We invite you to learn more about the specific services and benefits of each LSC community below" map is a Leaflet layer over one flat file, communities-map.png, in the theme folder. Eleven community locations across Rowan, Forsyth, New Hanover, Buncombe, Catawba, Stanly and Robeson counties exist in that picture and nowhere a crawler can read them as places. In the same page's service areas block sits an image element whose source is the page's own URL, which can never resolve to an image, with an empty alt attribute beside it.

Evidence. Read on lscarolinas.net/senior-services/, 5 October 2026. Map: <img class="invisible" id="map-image" src="https://lscarolinas.net/wp-content/themes/lsc/interactive-map/communities-map.png" alt="Map Image">. Service areas: <img src="https://lscarolinas.net/senior-services/" alt="" title="">. Page totals: 114 image elements, 18 with empty alt, 2 with a loading attribute.

What we confirmed about your North Carolina CCRC licenses

Before we built anything, we checked the Department of Insurance register, because it decides which of your communities carry the Article 64A reporting obligations.

Three LSC communities appear on the NCDOI register of licensed continuing care retirement communities

  • Trinity Oaks, Salisbury, listed under Rowan County
  • Trinity Elms, Clemmons, listed under Forsyth County
  • Trinity Landing, Wilmington, listed under New Hanover County

Trinity View in Arden does not appear in the Buncombe County listing, and none of the health-care-only communities appear. Trinity Oaks describes itself in its own words as "more than just a continuing care retirement community" on its homepage, and its social handles read TrinityOaksCCRC.

That means House Bill 357 of 2025, Session Law 2025-58, applies to LSC. Article 64 of Chapter 58 was repealed and Article 64A took effect on 1 December 2025. Under G.S. 58-64A-205, within 45 days after each fiscal quarter end you file unaudited financial statements for the provider and any obligated group, the 12-month daily average occupancy rate by living unit type at each North Carolina community, and notice of any change to the board, president, CEO, CFO or organizational documents. Under G.S. 58-64A-150(a)(39) the disclosure statement carries eight financial ratios for the past three fiscal years and the next three forecast years, for the provider alone and for the obligated group, with a narrative for any material change. The NCDOI Disclosure Statement Handbook applies to every disclosure statement filed on or after 24 April 2026.

A 90-day fix sequence

Ordered by return on effort, not by difficulty. Nothing here requires a rebuild.

WindowWhat gets doneWhat it moves
Days 1 to 15 Remove the image element whose source is the page URL. Give every community logo, partner mark and transparency seal real alt text. Add loading="lazy" to the 112 eager images on the senior services page and defer the translation flag set until the toolbar is opened. Design and mobile, 12 to 15. Speed and tech health, 8 to 11. One afternoon of theme work.
Days 16 to 45 Add Organization schema to lscarolinas.net naming all eleven senior living communities as sub-organizations, and a LocalBusiness node per community with its address, county and levels of care. Wrap the New Pathways, Heartful Living, PACE and adult day services explanations in FAQPage markup. AEO, 6 to 11. SEO basics, 13 to 15. This is where the 666 People Also Ask and 266 AI Overview keywords are won.
Days 46 to 75 Publish a real community locator: one indexable page per community on lscarolinas.net, with county, city, levels of care and whether it is a licensed North Carolina CCRC, each linking out to the community site rather than replacing it. Keep the PNG map as decoration above readable text. SEO basics, 15 to 17. Turns 361 local pack keywords into eleven findable places instead of one picture.
Days 76 to 90 Give the parent site one triage path: tell us the city, the level of care and whether this is for a parent or for yourself, and route the inquiry to the right community. Capture it once, centrally, so the inquiry is measurable across all eleven communities instead of eleven times in eleven inboxes. Conversion path, 11 to 16. First time the portfolio can see demand as one pipeline.

Two things we built for LSC this week

A modernized sample of your own homepage, using your own words and your own photography, and a live NCDOI quarterly filing board for Trinity Oaks, Trinity Elms and Trinity Landing: the eight ratios three years back and three forward, an obligated group filter beside a per-community filter, occupancy by living unit type, and a 45-day filing clock.
